Program
Eight ateliers with world-class conductors, open singing sessions, choir-to-choir concerts, study tour… Take a look at everything Europa Cantat Junior has to offer!
8 ateliers
Each morning, participants gather for workshop rehearsals to learn new music and prepare for the final concert. There, they will meet new choral friends from all over Europe and the world!
STUDY TOUR
The Study Tour is a full-day program for choir conductors, music students, and anyone interested in making children sing. Join an international group of colleagues and explore the festival from a professional perspective. Carlo Pavese (Italy) and Martí Ferrer (Catalonia) will be your guides.
Open Singing
Each evening, take part in one of the most fun moments of the festival: the Open Singing! All participants gather to enjoy simple and lively songs with hundreds of new friends. Led by Denis Thuillier (FR), it’s the perfect time to sing, move, and make music together.
Denis Thuillier has been a professional choir conductor since 2004, training with well-known names like Marianne Guengard, Pierre Calmelet, René Falquet and Bernard Tétu. He directs several choirs for children, youth and adults, and is often invited to lead workshops and train choir directors in France and beyond.
Denis is also a co-founder of Arcane Productions, the company behind the VoCA duo, which he forms with pianist and singer Mathieu Le Nestour. VoCA regularly performs at festivals, workshops, masterclasses and team-building events. Denis is passionate about the voice in all its forms. He brings the same joy and boundless energy to everything he does, whether it’s classical music, jazz, gospel or world music.
Afternoon activities
After lunch, take the opportunity to explore the city, enjoy leisure activities, or simply relax during an afternoon of rest. You can follow the festival’s suggestions and recommendations or explore on your own everything Girona has to offer!
Choir-to-choir concerts
The city of Girona fills with choral music during the choir-to-choir concerts. On some afternoons and evenings, join these shared concerts either as an audience member or on stage. Your choir can perform (if you wish) a 15-minute program of your choice. It’s the perfect opportunity to share your favorite music from home or to listen to your new friends!
Final concerts
The symphonic hall of the Auditori de Girona will be the impressive stage for the final workshop concerts, open to all festival participants.
