Federico Trindade is a Uruguayan conductor, arranger, composer, and educator based in Brazil, specializing in Brazilian and Uruguayan popular music, improvisation, and innovative approaches to choral leadership and performance. He holds a Soloist diploma and a Master’s degree from the Royal Academy of Music in Denmark (RAMA), where he focused on Innovative Vocal Leadership. He is the musical director of Movimento Coral e Instrumental Feevale at Feevale University, where he conducts the popular orchestra and the institution’s choirs, and he is also the founder and artistic director of Grupo UPA! and its educational branch, ProjUpa!, in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
His work focuses particularly on youth and young adult voices, while also encompassing children’s and adult choirs. For over two decades, he has collaborated with the group Expresso 25 as assistant conductor and percussionist. He is regularly invited to lead workshops and masterclasses at international festivals and institutions, including América Cantat, the Aarhus Vocal Festival (AAVF), the Royal Academy of Music, the Sibelius Academy, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He has also appeared as a guest conductor at festivals across Latin America and Brazil, including Encuentro de Música Corporal del Uruguay, Asunción a Voces (AAV), FESCC, and the Festival de Música de Itajaí. His work bridges Brazilian and Latin American repertoire with improvisation, body percussion, and Vocal Painting (VOPA), with a focus on creativity, listening, and body awareness and musical expression.
